Walled City with music by Dana Leong!

Dana's music brought a new spirit to the visuals. I think the music is haunting to me, kind of like a distorted memory. The Walled City is about memories and new imaginings as memory often gets distorted over time. I kind of took the myth of the real Walled City and mapped my own urban experiences on a city I never even saw, except in videos and photography, which is what often happens when people create myths. The music works really well in the sense that Dana is responding to my own interpretation of the Walled City and further overlaying his own. Which is what happens to myths. They keep overlaying new messages and the myth becomes greater than reality, gaining longevity and sometimes immortality. The music isn't what I expected at all, except for the fact that it follows a structure of blending 3 different character themes which I really wanted. I love how the music flows and blends from classical to electronic, and maybe even some rock-like guitar-like-distortion..or maybe DJ scratching? That 's the all mixed up cacophony of a throbbing city like the Walled City. I think it really reflects the city as a character in its own right.
